Right from when she was a little girl, Dania Ramirez knew what she wanted in life: to become an actress and in pursuing this goal, she was featured in a commercial when she was 15 years of age. However, her first real acting role came after graduating from a film academy in 1997 in Subway Stories (an HBO film). Even though she was only an extra, the role which introduced her to director Spike Lee would later pay off in the form of a bigger role in 2004. After the 1997 role, Dania’s talents got her a role in Sporty Thievz’s (a hip hop group) video, Cheapskate in 1998.

Moving on to bigger things, Dania’s next career highlight was as Daphane in the well received 2002 movie by Spike Lee, 25th Hour. With the experience she earned 2004 was a busy year for Dania starting with her role as Laurie Rodriguez in the film, Little Black Boot. Following this role, Dania Ramirez was also cast in the 2004 movies, The Ecology of Love and Cross Bronx as Alila and Mia respectively. On July 30, 2004, She Hate Me, another Spike Lee movie was released and it starred Dania Ramirez in the role of Alejandra "Alex" Guerrero.

Following her performance in She Hate Me, Dania went on to star in the ambitious 2004 movie, Fat Albert, as Lauri Robertson, the girl who won Fat Albert’s heart while on a sojourn in the real world. In 2006, Dania was cast as Callisto, the mutant who possessed paranormal speed and the ability to detect the powers and locations of other mutants in X-Men: The Last Stand. In 2007, Ramirez also starred together with Rick Gonzalez and Wanda de Jesus in Illegal Tender. Dania played the role of Ana, Gonzalez’s girlfriend in the film.

Dania starred in three movies in 2008 namely, Ball Don’t Lie, The 5th Commandment (co-starring with Rick Yune) and Quarantine, playing the roles of Carmen, Angel and Sadie respectively. In 2010, Dania Ramirez played the role of Jessica in Brooklyn to Manhattan and will be cast as Vanessa, a bicycle messenger in the 2012 movie, Prime Rush. Some of Ramirez TV credits include: as Caridad in the final three episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Blanca Selgado in five episodes of The Sopranos, Maya Herrera, the main cast in seasons two and three of Heroes and as Alex in episodes 1-6, season seven of Entourage.

Dania has also been featured in music videos, some of which include: Streets is Watching (for Jay Z) in 1998, Hush (for LL Cool J) in 2005, Cry Baby Cry (Santana and Sean Paul) in 2006 and Into the Night (for Santana) in 2007. Dania Ramirez has been named in the Sexiest Ladies of the Year lists of different magazines and she is currently a model for CoverGirl Cosmetics, and together with Queen Latifah, launched the company’s clean water campaign in 2010. In 2008, at the ALMA awards, Dania Ramirez was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Television Series for her performance in Heroes.
